Ebisu is traditionally the god of fishermen, luck, and merchants, often depicted with a fishing rod and a sea bream. When associated with an abacus, he represents prosperity in business and commerce, emphasizing skills in calculation and financial success. The combination of Ebisu with an abacus (soroban) symbolizes good fortune in trade and accounting, merging Ebisu’s traditional associations with a more modern aspect of financial management and commerce.
